Four Film4-backed films are set to head to the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival.

Ashley Walters’ Animol makes its world premiere in Perspectives. His directorial debut is a raw coming-of-age story set within a young offender institution, starring Tut Nyuot, Vladyslav Baliuk, Sekou Diaby, Stephen Graham and Sharon Duncan-Brewster.

Rafael Manuel’s Filipiñana follows its Sundance premiere with an International premiere in Perspectives, expanding on his Silver Bear Jury Prize-winning short.

Olive Nwosu’s Lady also heads to Berlin after Sundance, with its International premiere in Panorama. The film follows one young woman’s search for sisterhood and freedom in Lagos.

Also premiering is Jian Luo’s Under The Wave Off Little Dragon, backed through BFI and Film4's Future Takess scheme, is screening in the Generation Kplus programme.
