Film4, the BFI, and BBC Film have teamed up to create the UK’s first-ever Independent Film Sustainability Handbook.

Designed specifically for independent filmmakers, this free handbook offers practical, accessible and achievable guidance to help productions reduce their environmental impact. 

Developed with Picture Zero Ltd, experts in sustainability for film and TV, the handbook provides straightforward, actionable advice that productions of any size can put into practice. 

Tori Parry, Head of Production at Film4, said: “We hope this handbook is a useful tool for producers to enable more sustainable productions. Coming together with our peers at the BFI and BBC Film to help benefit the UK film industry is very important to us, and it’s been great to see the positive outcomes from the productions that took part in the pilot.”
